about "gambate"...about how most of us hate it when ppl tell us "gambate"..most of us take it lightly, one ear in one ear out.
y?well,i guess the meaning of it varifies to individuals.some would think that the person who says it is actually looking down on the person he/she is saying it to.ex.like i'm better than you,so gambate!!(that kind of meaning)..
some said that they were already trying so hard..and yet when they hear "gambate" they feel like the person think they're not trying hard enough..
well, there was a speech on this topic during my speech contest week too..in the text of the speaker she was saying the exact same thing...when she was trying her hardest and all,and then when she hears someone says gambate to her..she feels irritated..(cause she is giving her all already)and she wishes that they will use different kinda words..like "good luck"..etc...
i dunno if what im saying here makes any sense to u..but for me..(no offense to u guys who always say it to me ),but i really dont like it too..more to,i take it really lightly,i feel as if this word is use so often that it has become a really everyday used word..not only japs uses it,this word is like known worldwide..for me the sincerity in this word is gone...somehow...
sorrees...i really dunno how to express my feelings here but i just felt like blogging about it...
having said that, it all depends on situation..how u said it..which situation and when..one was saying "一緒に頑張ろう" was a much much better word..in other words"let's gambate together"...
what i noticed is the students who are studying here dislike when ppl ask them to gambate..and on the other hand..those who are not studying here like that word....a lot..
nono..im not asking or stopping u to tell me me to gambate or whatsoever,im just expressing what we think of the word..of course, you can say whatever you want to me... :)
